The majority of our trips take you to Little Coconut Island which is the perfect spot to relax. One side of the island tapers off slowly allowing you to walk in knee-deep water for hundreds of yards while the other side drops off quickly allowing the opportunity to swim, use the slide, or layout on a 6-foot by 15-foot Lilypad.

Don't feel obligated to have to "choose" one trip over another. We are always willing to fish during a sandbar cruise, go to the island during a sunset cruise, or do any combination that you wish. Just let us know exactly what you want and we will do our very best to make that happen. Customer service isn't just a friendly greeting but a commitment to making sure our guests are safe and completely satisfied.

Inshore Fishing Cruise

Fish the St. Lucie River while you chill and unwind. Common catches include snook, redfish, Spanish mackerel, and jacks. You can literally fish while enjoying a beverage at the bar.

Bareboat Charter Information.
Sail La Vie Tiki Cruises is committed to providing the best experience possible, that includes keeping our guest informed about the type of charter they are about to take. If you are boarding with six people or less then you will be on what is known as an OUPV Charter. If you are boarding with more than six people you will be under what is known as a Bareboat Charter. Each of these types of charters has a distinct set of USCG rules and regulations.
OUPV Charter requires a safety and compliance inspection to operate. Type 1 life preservers are provided for each guest and are readily accessible. Each captain is a member of a Drug Testing Consortium and are regularly tested for compliance. Other specific safety regulations apply and are faithfully adhered to under this type of charter.
With a Bareboat Charter, you are technically leasing the vessel. You choose the captains, we have a list for you, all of whom are still in the drug consortium. Each vessel will still have Type 1 life jackets but will have additional jackets as well to cover the number of guests. These charters are billed hourly and not by the number of people. Several other regulations apply and I invite you to see them below.
Bareboat Essential Bullet Points
Elements of a valid Bareboat Charter:
-
A chartered vessel may NOT carry more than 12 passengers without a Certificate of Inspection (COI).
-
A chartered vessel may NOT carry more than 12 passengers while moored. A charter vessel is considered to be carrying "passengers" whether moored or underway. This includes a boat bed and breakfast.
-
The owner of the vessel may NOT be the vessel master or part of the crew. The vessel owner is NOT allowed on board during a bareboat charter.
-
A bareboat charter contract may not dictate a crew. The charterer will have choice of crew and have the ability to discharge the crew.
-
The charterer is not considered a passenger, and there can only be one charterer, even though the vessel may be chartered by several individuals. In this case, one person would be considered the charterer and the rest would be counted as passengers.
-
Both U.S. flag and foreign vessels may be chartered, however foreign flagged vessels cannot carry passengers for hire between U.S. ports and must be chartered by and/or operate as a recreational vessel. Foreign built vessels owned by U.S. citizens must meet coastwise trade rules before carrying passengers for hire.
-
The charterer must have the option of selecting and paying crew, although the owner may require general levels of proficiency for the crew that is retained based on federal statutes;
-
The master/crew are paid by the charterer;
-
All food, fuel, and stores are provided by the charterer; Fuel charge approximately $5.00 to $10.00 per trip
-
Coverage is obtained by the charterer, at least to the extent of covering liability not included in the owner’s insurance. (Vessel is covered by State Insurance, Palm City)
-
The charterer is responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel;
-
The charterer may discharge, for cause, the master or any crew member without referral to the owner;
-
The vessel is surveyed upon its delivery and return and deemed to be in seaworthy condition.
